EL CHUPACABRA IS COMING
El Chupacabra Course Notes (2019):
Remember, this is technically unsupported and you are on your own. However, we want you to have an awesome time. 90% of the turns were marked with Hot Pink spray paint arrows on Friday; however, between weather and traffic some may wear off.
I drove the course on Friday morning and only saw a handful on vehicles. Most of the course was smooth and fast. There are a couple thick/fresh gravel sections due to the long winter. The most significant part was right after mile 38. Please use caution and be safe!
There are 3-4 times you will cross over a paved road at a 2-way stop. Be smart and use caution.

Additional notes:
  • The first approximately 2.5 miles are on blacktop, crossing over the I-70 overpass and onto I-70 Drive SE. These opening miles will be neutral following a pace vehicle. Once the route turns north (left) onto Doziers Station Road, the course is open.
  • At Mile 15 there is a two-way stop with a crossing at Route D (paved road), Please use caution.
  • At Approx Mile 24.5, there is a right turn onto Route M (paved Road) for a half mile and then a left onto Audrain Rd 940 (gravel). Use caution making that left.
  • At Mile 31, you enter the City of Mexico Industrial Park, being Sunday it should be quiet.
  • At Mile 32.5ish you will make a right turn onto Fairground Road. Lakeview Park will be on your left (East) side. There will be an aid station there with water, Gatorade and snacks. You do not have to stop, there is no check-in there.
  • Mile 36.25, you cross Route D (2-way stop) again. Please use caution.
  • At Mile 60.75, you will make a right hand turn back onto I-70 Drive SE. Use caution for vehicles.
  • The “Finish Line” will be at Mile 62, where the Froze Toes Road Race finishes BEFORE the Wilson Trailer Sales. There will be a spray paint line to mark the finish. Please pull into the Wilsons Trailer Sales gravel parking lot after the finish line. Your bib number will be recorded there. Once recorded, please roll neutral back south across the I-70 overpass and enjoy some post-race activities at Bur Oak Brewery.
